It’s a day for lists!
First, Jeremy Littau leads off with a list of 12 ideas that work in new media. I won’t steal his thunder, but I particularly like No. 2:
“Don’t fight aggregators; be one: It seems obvious to me. If you’re so mad about aggregators taking your content, then figure out ways to aggregate. Don’t look at the problem (they’re stealing content) but rather the lesson (people value organization of content from various sources). This doesn’t mean steal others’ stuff. Partner with bloggers and writers in your area and look for ways to cross-publish material and link back to the original source…”
Second, this is a nice little list of five quick tips for social media buy-in. A lot of them are pretty simple, but the overall theme is one that I’m a big fan of: namely, that people at your organization are already likely using Twitter, Facebook, instant messaging or other Web 2.0 stuff to communicate. The tools are free, your folks are already versed in them, so why not use them as a way to interact with your customers/clients?
Third is another link from Jeremy. I think this one can speak for itself. But I also love how it reads paired with this story from the Washington Post.
And, lastly, just to get back to football: The Missourian had a really nice profile of Sean Weatherspoon yesterday. Worth a read.
